Latent

First up, I am super excited because I got back the photos that I took during my last visit to Africa. I actually thought that I lost these photos, since I couldn't find them anywhere even though I uploaded them onto cloud storage, but when I was going through my PC, I was lucky enough to find that I had turned on a feature in lightroom which creates a backup of all files.

Anyways, this photo I beleive, conveys an important message. This female Impala was hiding in the bushes near the place where we stopped for a break, while in Mikumi national park, Tanzania. While I was taking this photo, I had to be careful not to scare the Impala too much that it ran away. But I really loved this Impala, as it sat there so nicely, posed for the photo without exhibiting any fear or tension. Most animals that I saw on that day were very shy, hesitant to even have eye contact with humans. But however, it was almost as though this Impala was there just for me to get this one shot.

I think we have a lot to learn from this photo. Just like this Impala, we all have a lot of talent, a lot of ideas, a lot of energy, a lot of responsibility and a lot of maturity, all latent within us. We just need to look. Within. Instead, what we tend to do is look for inanimate things and external factors to give us the answers which are found within us. We look forward to a good day to feel happy, while we control how we perceive the day. We wait for good things to happen by themselves while we have the power to make things happen. We wait for the other person to come and speak to us when we can go and appologise to them and set things straight, once again. But why?

You could argue that this is what most people do, and I would agree with you. But wrong is wrong even if everyone does it, and right is right even if no one does it. Now here, I don't mean to say that expecting external factors to make our day good is bad, but relying on them isn't what's right for us. We tend to become victims. We tend to become narrow-minded and lazy if we rely too much on things outside of our sphere.

The greatest wish that I have for you today is that you learn to look for the gifts within yourself. Trust me, there's a simple approach that can solve every problem. And it is to first question yourself, 'What is the problem?'. Then you start looking for the answers, from within. We mostly start looking for answers from outside and find nothing, after which we give up. The key to that? Look within. Think. Your brain is far more brilliant than you think. It knows when to give which idea. It could take time to find your answer, but trust me, it will be worth the wait.
