People around us always want to be seen as an iconic and beautiful person. They spend hours of their time and hundreds of their hard-earned money to beautify the outside. Yet they don't relaise that what they're beautifying is simply the vessel and not really what makes them, them- Character. I believe that we humans are here to portray different characters, and our body is simply a vessel to channel our beauty through actions. It is arguable that the notion of beauty has so strongly been linked with the body and the face especially, but that's just what the recent society has been trying to grind into people's minds. Look for that blemish-free skin, look for the absence of fine lines and wrinkles, look for the beautiful eye colour. But, I strongly believe that although the society tries to push things into your mind, it is upto you to decide whether you take them seriously and even give a damn about it. I think that it is only because people give into viewing beauty as a function of age and skin colour that this particular definition, of beauty being something that is appealing to the eye, is chosen by most people. I think people need to realise that beauty is what lies inside, it is honouring and embracing yourself for what your true self is. Tummy slagging due to age? Embrace it. Wrinkles on your face due to age? Embrace it. White hair on your head and beard due to age? Embrace it. Feeling odd? Tell yourself that you're unique, and embrace yourself. And when that happens, you'll feel more accomplished. And when that happens, you'll help those who are stuck with the same social stigma which you came out of. And when that act of goodness ripples, the world becomes a better place.
