Job.

People are mostly dissatisfied with their job. They're either annoyed by the monotony of the 9 to 5 nature of their job, or by the workplace politics that steals away their effort and gives the fruit of their hard work to someone else who doesn't deserve it, or by the inability of one's boss to understand that they're headed on a different and easier approach.

I think this photo is related to all that. The sacks you see in the corner of the dark and ill- lit building here, is what feeds a family of three. The man working has to endure the heat of all the air conditioning exhausts you see here, in order to get these sacks of goods onto the truck when it arrives during mid-day, when both- the weather outside and the heat due to the air conditioners exhaust are unforgiving and unbearable, all in a city that averages some 45 degrees celcius during the summer months.

The above mentioned scene is a regular spectacle for those who have grown in Dubai, and it's one of the reasons I love Old Dubai- the smell and aura of hard work, sacks of consumer goods being carried around by people all day long.

What we need to take away from here, is simple. If someone who endures so much heat, sweats ten times more than us, works 10 times more than us, is paid a fraction of what we're paid, lives in a home with barely enough space for his children to play, can happily come home to see his children and love to spend time with his family, why can't we, working in sophisticated and air conditioned offices, being paid well, given proper housing, have to shout at people from our family with so much office stress while office ends when you click the shut down button on your PC? Why can't we come back home happily and enjoy family time? Why can't we come back home with some surprise for our family? I think we can do better.
